Bordiga Vermouth Rosso NV

Bordiga Vermouth Rosso NV

Bordiga is different from many of the Vermouth labels sold now because they produce the vermouth themselves, they don’t buy it from a producer, and they’ve been producing quality Vermouth for over a hundred years. The winery says ‘Bordiga is a producer, not a label,’ and ‘Tradition is our present, and our future.’

Bordiga Vermut Rosso is a traditional Italian sweet vermouth produced in the Piedmont region.  Made according to an original 19th-century recipe from herbalist Pietro Bordiga, it is known for being lighter and more delicate than many other red vermouths.

Key features:

  • Production: The base is a blend of Piedmontese wines, including Nebbiolo. Over thirty botanicals, many sourced from the Occitan Alps, are individually macerated before being blended with the wine base.
  • Flavor profile: It offers notes of cinnamon, baking spices, cola, licorice, and citrus. The flavor is balanced by a subtle sweetness and bright acidity.
  • Color: The red color comes naturally from the Nebbiolo base and other botanicals, with no additional chemicals used.
  • Uses: Its lighter style makes it a versatile ingredient for cocktails like a Manhattan or a Negroni, and it can also be enjoyed on the rocks with an orange peel or mixed with soda.
