Our Tasting Notes: The Moulin de Duhart 2020 is a prototypical Pauillac. Excellent structure (silky tannins and acidity) with nice complexity and weight. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot with 13.5% ABV. Owned and adjacent to Chateau Lafite Rothschild so it benefits for the expertise and investment from the parent company. The nose has a mixture of black berries with violet perfume – very inviting bouquet. Ripe berries and currants and excellent length. Drinking well not but will continue to improve and evolve over the next 10-15 year.

Bright, sappy, closed in right now. This is a powerful Moulin de Duhart, with the tannins of the year evident, underpinned by a juicy undertow of slate, smoked earth and blackberry fruits. First vintage in the new cellar.

The 2020 Moulin de Duhart has a bright, vivid nose. A mixture of blackberry, blueberry fruit and crushed violet comes through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a dab of dark chocolate on the entry. Supple and fresh with a lovely harmonious rondeur on the finish. Good potential.

Fresh cherries and liquorice, with notes of red forest berries underneath, subtle fresh herbs, floral aromas in the background, inviting bouquet. Juicy, elegant, a fine fruit sweetness, round, silky tannins, balanced and already well developed, a versatile and very charming food companion.

While I don't find 2020 to be a particularly great vintage for second wines, the 2020 Moulin De Duhart is nevertheless a beauty with loads to love. Ripe cherries, currants, tobacco, and sandalwood all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, elegant mouthfeel, light yet present tannins, and outstanding length. You can drink this total charming, rock-solid Pauillac any time over the coming 10-15 years.
